I am on the Approved Provider List with the Yorkshire Adoption Support Fund
For 1:1 play therapy, I recommend a minimum of 3 parent/carer meetings over the course of a play therapy intervention; at least one each at the beginning, middle and end; these are charged at an hourly rate along with the child’s weekly session fee. Please see ‘services offered’ below for more detail.
Play & Creative Arts Therapy -
Your child will receive a minimum of 12 sessions of individual therapy once per week. The average child has between 18-24 sessions, with more intensive work extending long-term.
Play Therapy is non-directive, which means your child will choose what and how to play in the room. Boundaries are clearly set so your child understands how I keep them safe in a session. They are then free to play as they choose in an unrestricted way.
The toolkit includes:
Sand tray & Miniatures
Puppets
Clay
Painting & Drawing
Messy & Sensory Play
Dance & Movement

Grounding & Embodiment
Filial Therapy is a psychoeducational intervention in which I work alongside the parents/carers as they hold child-centred play sessions with their own children, empowering them to be the primary change agents for their own child.
Filial Therapy usually takes between 20 - 24 sessions; I work primarily with the parents, enabling them to facilitate therapeutic play with their own children, with me guiding initially, and then independently once they have learnt the skills and feel confident. I work with parents at every session including practice and feedback, and there are no additional meetings.
Reports can be provided for courts, children’s services, psychiatric referrals and educational settings. I charge my hourly rate for requested reports.
I welcome referrals from parents/ legal guardians, social workers, GP's, clinical psychologists, teachers, learning mentors, fostering & adoption charities and other agencies.
Play therapy can only be undertaken with the consent of the person(s) holding legal guardianship of the child.
